How long do the collars take to become effective?

In our experience, the collars become most effective after 4-6 weeks of continuous use.
We recommend wearing the collar 24/7 during tick season.

Can my dog swim in their collar?

Accepted Answer

Swimming in the collar is 100% safe as long as it is not a chemical treated pool. After swimming simply lay the collar in the sun to dry.

How tight should the collar be?

The collar does not have to be very tight, it should fit like their regular collar! It should be tight enough so that it doesn't fall off , or become a hazard for your dog. It should be loose enough to to allow your dog to be comfortable during every day activities. This is important, as it is imperative the collar be worn as much as possible during tick season!

Can my puppy or senior dog use the collar?

Because these collars are 100% all natural, there is no risk of using them with seniors, puppies or dogs with any health concerns.

Can I use other tick deterrent products in conjunction with the collar?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely!  As this is a natural product, it will not interfere with any other tick prevention methods. If you are using a topical spray just be sure to avoid contact with the beads, as this will impede their effectiveness.

As all tick prevention product, (including those purchased from a vet) there is no guarantee that the product will keep you or your pet tick free. The best prevention to tick borne disease is to check yourself and your pet after every outing.

Are the collars safe for dogs with allergies?

We have never encountered a dog that has had a reaction to our products. Our own dog Olive has had skin issues in the past, and they never worsened with use of the collar. As long as your dog is not sensitive to nylon (paracord), alloy metals (paw beads), and plastic (cord lock stopper), you should be fine.
